Research with a designer’s eye.
I’m Josh Magno, an experience researcher who started in UI and UX design. I bring curiosity about people and a designer’s attention to how things work. For me, research connects what we learn about people to what a team decides to build, with room for good (and awkward!) questions and a good laugh along the way.
01Hyatt Hotels
Hyatt looked to develop a new reservation and guest support tool for their Guest Services team. I lead Hyatt’s product team to prioritize key functions for their global agents.
Leading user interviews, design sprints, and usability tests, I landed on a prototype expected to reduce training costs, handling times, and save Pearl Hotels’ significant revenue.

02Edward Jones
Edward Jones wanted to integrate an asset transfer type into their banking system crucial to tax season. I planned and conducted user interviews and usability tests for this feature, and reduced weeklong processing times to a few seconds, increased the firm’s savings, and moved away from an antiquated banking tool.
FINANCIAL SERVICES03I worked with John Hancock’s internal team to streamline the Vitality app to make all Activities and Rewards accessible to mobile users. Leading design sprints and usability tests, I built a prototype that simplifies the Vitality app navigation and modernizes the interface, helping users reduce their insurance premiums faster than ever.
